The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation
The Justice Prize honors individuals who have advanced the cause of justice as delivered through the legal system.
The award both acknowledges individual efforts and encourages further advancements toward bringing about a fundamentally just world.
Established in 2001, the Justice Prize of the Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation – a gold medal and unrestricted $500,000 cash award – is an international award presented annually. Recipients are selected by a distinguished panel of international legal experts from nominations that are received from around the world.
In support of the field of Justice, The Foundation has pledged an annual fellowship, in effect from 2009-2011, that will fund a student of George Washington University Law School selected to serve as a law clerk to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, under the ICJ’s University Traineeship Programme. The Gruber Foundation International Law Fellowship will promote the development and understanding of international law by providing invaluable financial support to the GW Law student selected by the ICJ. The George Washington University Law School shall administer the fellowship.
